Canada_Day9_Ottawa_Tulip Festival

Tulip festival starts today, May 7. People came from everywhere to have fun during the Tulip Festival. Hotel reservation needed to be made ahead of time; rooms are booked out very easily. I negotiated with hotel to get the nice deal for our last two nights in Ottawa. Otherwise, we need to pay 210 for our room per night.

We headed out before noon time. It was a very nice day. Not hot at all and good for walking!

Lots of tulip sculptures are on street painted by different artists. Each of them has different theme.

Live Jazz band for opening the festival. Remy danced with the music. We had the great time!

The main opening events were near the downtown Parliament area. Lots of people on the street.

Remy wanted to get out of the stroller and run around!

Some part of streets had street fairs.

Remy finally got off the stroller. He was running like a rat!

One of my favorite tulip sculpture!

Parliament again!

My favorite dark purple tulips:)

City banners. I like the shape of the banners.

Home for tulip sculptures.

We had very good lunch at this steak restaurant. Ira kept saying he got to have some Canadian steak dish before we leave for home. I choose this STEAK restaurant near the Byward market to have lunch.

Byward market again! I was thinking to get some French Bakery before we leave!

The restaurant looks trendy and food looks nice which fits my vacation food category. So we walked in:)

Nice steak for the cold weather! We were so satisfied! The only complaint is the dishes came so slow. Remy almost had the riot from starving!

IRA's dish!

My dish!

We walked back to hotel after lunch without getting any French desserts. We were so full from lunch!

Nice tulips again

Tulip flower beds all over OTTAWA city!
