Remy and his BOLT

Couple days ago, Ira downloaded the movie, "Bolt" and watched when he fed or played with Remy. This was the first film or program on TV caught Remy's attention. He laughed a lot while he was watching this 3D animation.
Ira decided, Remy must felt special about Bolt so we went to Disney to get a Bolt toy. Remy slept and played with his bolt these days. They are the best buddies.

The Most Touching Moment!

I love my Remy boy!! Remy knows me and responds through his actions.
It's July 7, 2009, Tuesday afternoon, around 1:20, when Remy first saw me into the house, he ran to me with open arms in his little walker.
Since then, he either gave me big smiles, crawled to me or run to me in his walker when he saw me came back from work.
It's such a big reward after each hard day!

Do you "Flip" yet?

I started doing blog and putting Remy's videos on YouTube. My Casio Exilim is quite handy for taking short videos. However, during the conversion, the picture quality decreases. Ira decided to get me a flip HD so we can share important moments of Remy with our family and friends through web. Flip video is ready for YouTube so it's very convenient for shooting web video. July 28, Flip finally arrived our house. We decided to called our new toy, "Mr. Flipper."

Curiosity can also kills Remy!

It's fun to see how Remy deals with things and gets fascinated by little objects.
He can be very concentrate in playing one little thing for hours. If you stop him in the middle of discovering, he can come back again as soon as he gets the chance.
Ira and I keep our eyes on Remy 24 hours. I guess we are just starting being parents!!
These are the objects interest him now:
wires, remotes, keyboards, rubber objects, anything with springs, Irobot, light switches.

New Findings–Solano Ave, Berkeley

July 25, I visited Solana avenue in Berkeley and discovered 2 great stores.

Five Little Monkeys
The first one we walked in is "Five Little Monkeys." A very unique toy store. You can find lots of traditional, hard to find toys in that store. They have wood trains and cars, organic stuff toys for boys and girls. Price is good and affordable.






Sweet Potatoes
The second store that I discovered is just 2 stores down on the same street, Sweet Potatoes. It's a local designer children's clothing store. They have special section sells design samples. You can find something unique with very affordable price. They also have Marimekko brand clothes.

Family Outing

Time off.
Off from work, Off from home, Off from hot days,
but On for enjoying life.


It's our family policy, we need to take a day of a week to relax, eat good food and being nice to each other. When it's hot in Sacramento, we tend to go to bay area where is cool to walk around; look at cool stuffs and shops or fun people.

Sometimes we pretended we were in a foreign city and explore. We found lots of cool restaurants, shops and cafe by following our intuitions.
Remy loves to sit in his cart and been pushed around. He loves people and tries new things. This July when he is about 8 months, we started taking him to cafe with us to read and write. He is able to entertain himself for a while so mom and dad and finally have some personal time to think and write.

8 month Remy

Remy is going to be 9 month at the end of July.
He had lots of physical changes and mental developments.

• His hairs grow longer and thicker but still very slow.
• He laughs during the Cartoon.
• Both of his hands have more control. He is totally able to feed himself without help with 4 oz size bottle. He is able to use baby drinking cut to drink water and juice.
• He crawls fast. He is able to lift himself up; finds support and move. His legs got lot of exercises so his thighs are very strong and slim down a lot.
• Remy also starts to talk long sentences with his own language.
• He woke up and stand up in the middle of the night in his crib
  
• 4 teeth out and another 2 at the top are coming out.
• Too big for his new born baby crib (We bought him a wooden bed)
• Too big for taking bath in the sink. move him to the tub for beth. For the first couple times, he cried when he first saw water running into his tub and made lots of noises. Right now, he enjoys his beth. He plays his rubber toy with water during the bath time.
• Remy signs with music, especially with only piano background light music.

Peach Baby

We have a very nice yellow peach tree at the backyard. We got it from Costco and planted it in the first winter after we moved into our new house.
Our peaches ripe around mid June every year. we are still experimenting on how to make our peach bigger and sweeter. Early this year, we nocked down a lot of 1/3 of peaches so this year's crop is better than the previous years.

These are our harvest records:
2009: at least 400 peaches
2008: 0ver 600 peaches
2007: 72 peaches



Remy loves peaches. They are soft, juicy and very easy to swallow. He finished entire peach on his first try. I love to hold him to pick several peaches and share peaches under the shade.

Teething History

Remy's grand-mom always tells me most of kids start teething after 6 months. Kids who are teething drool a lot. Remy drools and constantly chew on everything in sight. I first noticed the tooth bud late in May and early June. 2 bottom and 2 top teeth started coming out around Jun 10. They come out slowly and Remy did not have fever or and discomfort till end of June. He started had fever on June 28 when I took him home from Ira's friday lunch. It was a hot day and he was in the car for a while so I did not thought he was having fever. This fever was not bad but it lasts about 3 days. Remy was tired; cried more and ate very little.
* The week of July 21, there's a left tooth next to the front teeth started to come out.

Remy is teething

I am attaching an email Ira sent me a couple of days ago showing Remy's current development.

1) He got himself behind the bathroom door with it closed but not latched. I called to him and said what are you going to do now? He calmly pulled the door open and came out. To prove that he knew what he was doing, while in my office, he closed the door, played with the door stop, and then re-opened the door.
2) He has started crying again. I have the answer! He has more teeth coming in. The ones on the side of his two front teeth are showing for sure. I'm going to treat him to neh-neh and tylenol ... and then I'm sure he'll nap. He was great all morning until this started bothering him.

Baby Banana Brush

Remy started teething before July 4th. I got him this baby banana brush at Emeryville last Saturday. This brush is different from most of the baby brushes I can find. Entire brush is made out of rubber. He loves to chew it and play with it. He would use his brush when I brushed my teeth and mimic my action.
